My first Sony experience is with my secret floppy drive and disk

[Trivial: Sony introduced and shipped the first 3 1/2″ floppy drives and diskettes in 1981.]

[First of all, I’m sorry, I want to share my secret what I struggled on those dark days] 

1998: I Rybaxs was at 1st year High school, I’ve always heard Sony was so hot in every branded devices and technology, that’s the first time I’d heard the Sony Playstation game console. I don’t have any Sony devices at that time; I always pray that someday I will have my own Sony Playstation, and Sony Discman. I’ve always dream I was playing Sony playstation and listening to a Sony Discman, I want to get back to sleep because I want to continue my dream. At that stage of my life, I never experience crush on a girl, admire on someone because I’m totally addict and in love on Sony Playstation.

After a few weeks and a few months I wait and prayed and come up in a decision of  “Its impossible to have a Sony device”.  In our school at the computer laboratory, I really hated the subject “computer” because it’s so boring doing nothing on a Lotus 1-2-3, but because of the word “SONY” that is embedded on a floppy drive, my tardiness of this subject was changed, I go to school early and want to hug the CPU because I was thinking that, the CPU was a Sony device, because of the Sony brand embedded at the floppy drive.

 After a few months, My mind twisted into an evil idea that someday I want that Sony device (Sony floppy drive). I’ve studied and plan for an operation, I calculated what time the teacher is out and inn in the lab, the interval for the computer lab is free, and day to make the operation 100% successful.

My prediction is hundred percent successful, the day must be Saturday because, other teachers was not in the office, active guards are off duty, other sections are free. So my time for the operation must be in the early morning (PlanA) or afternoon (PlanB). I go with the PlanA, I was telling the guard that I have a practice and cleaning up the garden activity, but my real intention was different.

PlanA was to get rid the tools(screw drivers) at the Electronics subject, after I had the tools, I must go directly to the computer lab. At that time teachers and other student are busy on the computer lab so I need to proceed to PlanB.

PlanB, I must unscrew the CPU in less than 5mins, how should I do that. First is… Unscrew the CPU by 5mins interval. Problem is I’m first timer and I’m so afraid. When I’m in the laboratory, the student inside was wondering what am I doing inside the laboratory. At the end, solo mission was failed.

After a few weeks, my friend asks me, can you fix my computer? I replied yes I can, because I have experience on fixing simple basic troubleshooting at school. I was shock that the CPU I was trying to fix is the CPU of our computer lab that I was trying to opened. After fixing I told him that your computer is impossible to fix, then I ask to him, can I have this floppy drive. Then he told me, do you have computer, I’ve answer no, but sooner my mother will buy. My friend granted me to have his floppy drive. Yes! Am so happy at that time, He told me that he bought the CPU and didn’t pay because it’s not working.

After all those years, my Sony floppy drive is working 100%. Because of the Sony floppy drive, it change my life in the era of the vanishing floppy drive. Sony floppy drive is undefeated, because of this my dream and my real world struggle to overcome the bad actions that committed, it specially affects my attitude and character.

I was surprised because of its quality and durability. Some floppy drive just got crash or cannot be used after a few months, This Sony Drive helps me half of my life, backing up important files and my project at High school to college.
